Are you thanking about planning a Renaissance theme or Medieval theme wedding? Using a historical theme for weddings is becoming a popular trend. Why not have a magical Renaissance Fair for your guests to remember or a medieval dinner show. A renaissance theme wedding adds a sense of chivalry and grace for a wedding. Here are some ideas and tips to help you get started.

Colors
Green and black, gold, silver, darker shades such as red, orange, purple, green, brown and bright yellow

Flowers
Ivy, red roses, gloriosa lily; amaryllis, birch twigs or holly branches, lilies and tulips.

Decorations
Bunches of wheat which symbolize bounty and fertility
Use family Coat of Arms
Use lots of ivy to make garland to string up or for centerpieces on the tables.
Use some herbs such as rosemary, thyme, basil, and sage that will add texture and a nice renaissance fragrance.
Wild berries and flowers
Use heavy wood and brightly colored banners made out of cloth using wood dowels for the reception hall. Lots of candles
Wreaths made of grape vines add a nice touch to the Renaissance theme wedding.

Scrolls with romantic poems,
Use Large baskets of flowers
Wooden candle holders
Bowls of fruit 
Dried flowers and herbs
Use large scrolls to hang on the walls and smaller ones for the tables.
Use small painted shields
Stained glass vases filled with flowers or candles.
Create crowns decorated with gems as centerpieces.
Use pewter figurines for centerpieces such as castles, dragons or knights.
Fill pewter or silver mugs with flowers, ivy, pine or wheat
Paper petal cones filled with bread crumbs instead of throwing rice.
