12 ounces (one bottle) of ginger beer
36 ounces (three bottles) of cream soda
3 T of butterscotch ice cream topping
Thoroughly chill the unopened ginger beer and cream soda in the refrigerator until they are icy cold. Refrigerate the empty glass pitcher as also. Once the beverages are chilled, in a small mixing bowl or tall glass, stir 1-2 ounces of cream soda into the butterscotch topping until it's thoroughly combined. Pour all the remaining soda into the chilled pitcher. Quickly add the butterscotch mixture to the pitcher. Stir until it is just combined - do not over stir. Pour it over the ice and serve them immediately. This recipe serves 6.

Have some fun and accent the party by making your own drink umbrellas. Use a soup can as a handy template for paper umbrella tops. Cut the paper with scallop scissors for a added decorative edge. From each circle, remove a pie-slice shape measuring about 1/8 of the circumference. Form into a cone, slightly overlapping straight ends; use a glue stick or double sided tape to secure them. Dab with white craft glue inside the nose of the cone and pierce the tip with a wooden skewer (snip skewer for a custom fit); allow to dry.

Use 8 lemons or limes, juice and the zest of 4; use remaining to create serving cups
2 cups of water
2 cups of sugar
Serving Cups
Slightly cut the stem end of the lemon or lime, creating a flat surface so it will stand up straight. Cut approximately 1/2" of the top of the lemon or the lime to use as the lid. Use a sharp knife and cut around the inside of the fruit and carefully pull out the pulp. Then freeze the lemon or lime cup while you prepare the sorbet.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, make a simple syrup by combining the water and sugar. Heat the ingredients until the sugar is dissolved. Remove it from heat and let it cool. Add the lemon juice and zest to the syrup and refrigerate until cold.
Place the mixture in an ice cream machine and freeze according to manufacturer's directions.
Fill the cups with sorbet. Cups can be re-frozen until ready to serve. (Frozen sorbets in shells may be wrapped individually in plastic wrap and kept in freezer 1 week.) Garnish with mint and serve immediately.

Serve a cool refreshing cocktail like the Strawberry Basil Margaritas:
2 ounces of tequila (1 oz = a shot)
1/2 cup of strawberry simple syrup*
juice of 2 limes
splash of Cointreau (substitute any other orange-flavored liquor)
2 Teaspoon of fresh basil, chopped roughly
To mix the drinks, place the basil in the bottom of a cocktail shaker (or large cup). Pour in the tequila. Mash the basil leaves into the tequila, so as to release the flavor. Fill the shaker with ice, then add strawberry syrup, lime juice, Cointreau. Cover and shake, then strain out into glasses. Garnish with sliced strawberries and basil.
To make the strawberry simple syrup:
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
4-5 strawberries, sliced
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then let simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the strawberries look exhausted. Cool the syrup, then strain the liquid through a sieve, pressing the strawberries firmly to extract all liquid. Store in a bottle or jar in the fridge-will keep for up to 2 months. What's more fun and festive than polka dots. Parties and celebrations and a lot more fun when there's a theme. Make sure you keep your polka dot theme by having everything be colorful circles, from decorations to food. You'll want to make easy by deciding on two or three colors so that you can limit colors of balloons, etc.
Here are a few ideas:
Accent your table with festive plates and glasses such as the plates from Wrapables which are hand painted with white dots and are both classic and modern. They come in a set of 4 in assorted colors. The polka dot glass and bowls are also from Wrapables.
Why not try your hand at making a polka dot ribbon topiary for your table decor? Supplies needed are;
Styrofoam ball, pick your size
Wooden dowel rod, choose your length
Flower pot, any style
Floral foam to fit inside your pot (to hold the dowel in place)
Straight pins (to pin in the ribbons)
Lots and lots of ribbon scraps or specialty ribbons in your party colors
Glue and decorative moss or paper shred to cover top of pot
You can find instructions on putting this together at Polka Dot Birthday
The festive polka dot balloons can be found at Birthday in a Box. Each package comes with 5 bright colored polka dot latex balloons. Polka dot pinwheels are a nice idea along with simple paper birthday banners to dress up the party space. Polka dot favor boxes found here at Accent the Party.
Give your guests a special treat with polka dot cupcake pops found at Bakerella. The recipe makes about 50 and you store them in an airtight container so they last for several days.
When it comes time for your guests to leave, don't let them go home empty handed. Return a small wedding party favor expressing your thanks to all those who attended. Here's a creative solution to a modern event...two in one wedding party favors.
Each wooden favor box features image cutouts which also acts as a placecard holder. The designer place cards match the theme and the box itself can hold any sort of treat you'd like to put in them. Even better, your wedding party guests can take the favor home as a souvenir to use as a picture holder and a nifty little container. Perhaps you are looking for a placecard holder without a box? The placecard holders stand up on their own without the box, should you desire to use them that way.

If you're like me, I seem to fumble when it comes to folding napkins. So I found a few ideas to share with you and after trying them they pretty easy.
These I found at Wedding Magazine. Their style editor, Victoria Sullivan, created some simple yet elegant designs to choose from.
I also found some beautiful ideas at Martha Stewart. She always has good ideas and gives me a lot of inspiration when it comes to setting the table or decorating for a special event or party.
3. Napkin Bow Spread the dinner napkin of your choice out with it lying flat. Fold the opposite sides of the napkin in so they meet at the center. Fold it again at the center to form a narrow, ribbonlike shape. Next, fold the short ends in so they meet at the center. Cinch in the middle with a ribbon in a coordinating color and glue it at back. I tried this one also and it was quite simple (even for me).
4. Rose Napkins This is my most favorite. Accent your table with a practical twist with napkins that are folded into a rose inspired arrangement. The flower and leaves are tucked into a glass or tumbler and set at each place setting.

Are you interested in throwing a tea party for your little girls, or maybe for you and the ladies? Then you have come to the right place. Here you will find tips on how to throw a majestic tea party that will have you all feeling like princesses!
First off, the weather. The whole idea of this "Spring Tea” is to enjoy the spring time for it is the season of growth and sun that we all love to enjoy, and to be quite frank, its hard to enjoy the sun and warm breeze from behind closed doors. Bring the tea outside.
Start out with the invitations. They do not necessarily have to be anything special nonetheless formal, you could even hand-make them if you’d like. Its simple. You can pick up card stock and cute little patterns from your local scrap booking store, and there you go. Glue on the pattern and say what you may. Be sure to include time, place, attire if necessary, and the occasion. Be sure your guests know that the Spring Tea will be held outside for some may have allergies or need a light jacket. Either way, it is best to be prepared.
Next, the sitting arrangements are key. Again, depending on how many guests you plan to invite, be sure they all have a seat. Your backyard, lawn chairs may suffice, but if there are more guests than chairs, contact your local rec. center. Places like that usually have tables and benches that you can easily decorate and cover to rent on a daily basis. They typically should not cost you more than $40 to rent for one day.
After you have the table settings taken care of, food and tea are the next step. After all, what is a Spring Tea without the tea itself. Since there are so many types of teas, you could either have a wide selection ranging from mint, to berry, or the basic sweet tea with lemons. If you are trying to save money, in the invitation, either prepare a list of tea’s that one may like and have them respond, or when they RSVP, be sure to ask what they prefer, so that way you can narrow down the selection to just a few. As for the food, that simple. Cookies and sandwiches are all you need. Whether the cookies be homemade chocolate chip, or ones that you may purchase from a bakery, they will both go over just as well as the next. Sandwiches could be tricky, so you could set-up a buffet where they can create their own, or make three different types and just hope everyone likes them. Usually at tea parties there are scones and such, but if you are trying to make this one memorable, try different appetizers including wraps, quesadillas, or shrimp cocktail. Those little cucumber sandwiches, no matter how healthy they might be, often leave your guests hungrier than they were when they first arrived. Offer your guests personalized tea favors. Be spontaneous!
Lastly, the entertainment. Your party may function just fine with conversation and laughter, but its fun to keep everyone on their toes. Games such as Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit, or Guess that Tune, can be a hit as well. You don’t have to try hard to impress your closest friends, they already know you, and love you just the way you are!
